I am currently in my 20th year of teaching Middle School ELA. I have taught at schools on both ends of the spectrum, from at-risk to schools who serve mostly upper-middle class. Both have their share of challenges. They also have many reminders of why I chose to become a teacher in the first place…the students. I truly love what I do and strive to be the best teacher that I can be.
In order to continue loving what I do, I have to keep learning and staying on top of all the current, innovative trends in education. To do this, I’m always researching the best ways to make learning engaging and interactive for students. Educational technology plays a key role in this. Therefore, I’m constantly finding ways to integrate technology into classroom activities that are beneficial for both the teacher and most importantly, students.
I am also a content contributor and published blogger for Dictionary.com, WeAreTeachers.com, & Tract. Sharing ways to incorporate technology into the classroom is something I’m extremely passionate about as you can see in my blog posts.
I’m also a certified educator/coach/ambassador for Flipgrid, Quizlet, Edpuzzle, and Remind. These are 4 educational technology tools I use regularly in my classroom.
When I’m not teaching or creating resources for middle school ELA, you can usually find me at the baseball field with my 3 favorite guys. My husband, Jason and I have 2 boys, ages 17 and 15. Both eat, sleep, and breathe baseball.
