Teachers, including myself, constantly feel as though our hands are tied when it comes to promoting students’ creativity in the classroom. The overwhelming amount of standards we have to get through leaves little to no time for anything extra. Then I discovered the web-based program, Tract. Empower students to take ownership of their learning by using Tract in any classroom or subject area.
What is Tract?
Tract is the first peer-to-peer, project-based learning platform where students from grades 3-12 get to use creativity, critical thinking, and independence. In turn, these skills help to prepare them for the future while keeping students engaged. Tract classes, called learning paths, integrate communication, collaboration, and so much more. All the elements kids should possess to be college and career-ready.
Use Tract in All Classrooms
As a middle school educator, my goal is to always promote student-centered learning. Kids should play a huge role in their learning. I want my students to complete activities that THEY are interested in and that helps them discover positive aspects of who they are. Tract is the ideal program to do just this!
Tract sparks creativity and empower students to take ownership in the classroom. Their goal is also to develop the critical thinking skills they need to succeed as successful young adults. Tract provides students ages 8+ with the opportunity to explore new interests and deepen existing passions through self-directed, project-based classes in a format kids love. They also enable the structure and support to then harness those passions. Then they apply them toward something educationally valuable — teaching – by creating a class on Tract.
The best part is there’s no professional development required. Teachers can get setup and start using Tract in the classroom in under 24 hours!
Tract is FREE forever for teachers — but only if you sign up in 2021! Learn more and set up your classroom with a free account by using access code LITWITHLYNS at teach.tract.app.

Empower Students with what They Love
In addition to being able to zone in on their own interests, Tract makes it a game. They do this by allowing students to earn coins by completing projects and challenges. Students use coins for real-world donations or select digital and physical goods. Yet another way to put the ball in students’ courts – giving them the power to choose how they want to use their earnings.
Tract’s Stance on Safety + Moderation
We think it’s incredibly important to create a safe, learning environment for students to share their classes, projects, and comments. Tract also recognizes the importance of taking proper precautions to protect against any inappropriate content that violates our Community Guidelines.
Tract takes a three-tiered approach to moderation:
- Verified Adult Account Holders Only
- Technology Detection & Blocking
- Human Moderation
