Fun Halloween Activities for Middle School are a MUST this time of year! In October, it’s almost like clockwork when students start to get a little too comfortable. This is when the behaviors begin to show… until I realized that you have to do things a little different. I created some great spooky resources for middle school Reading and ELA that your students will love. Oh, and there’s a FREEBIE for you too!
Halloween Escape Rooms
One of my kids favorite activities are escape rooms! I created 2 Halloween digital escape rooms that cover a ton of standards! If you purchase both, you save 20% here! In the escape rooms, students will read a spooky story, answer reading comprehension questions, complete figurative language activities, plot diagrams, and so much more! The best part is that it’s ZERO prep for teachers!! You just share the link with your students, and they’re on their way! You can also purchase the escape rooms individually. To see what each escape covers, click the links below.

Patrick Carman’s 3:15 Series
Another Halloween favorite is Patrick Harman’s 3:15 Series. I do one of the stories from the series called “The Lift.” You do not need to have done any others to understand the story. They don’t relate to one another. You can get all of the materials (for FREE) and learn all about how this works here.
Halloween FREEBIE
My students always love Halloween writing prompts! I use these either as a warm-up or as a class activity. There are 10 writing prompts total, and they’re all creative and fun. If your kids are like mine, they will really get into these. There are also a couple for students who don’t celebrate Halloweeen. Download the Halloween Writing Prompts here.
You can find other engaging fall activities in my store. Hopefully these will make your teacher life a little easier!
