Earth Day Reading Comprehension Escape Room will make Earth Day fun while learning all about it. This is an engaging way to incorporate informational text, environmental poems with figurative language, comprehension questions, and a short video clip that utilizes symbolism.

This escape room was made to make your teacher-life easier! The digital version is virtually ZERO PREP, and the printable version simply requires you to make copies.

Escape Room Activities

Room #1– Read an informational text on the history of Earth Day and answer comprehension questions.

Room #2– Learn how humans impact the environment and how we can help. Then they will complete a crossword puzzle using both articles to fill out the puzzle

Room #3– Read 4 environmental-related poems, and then complete a drag & drop activity that requires them to identify similes, metaphors, and personification.

Room #4– Watch a short video clip form Wall-E where they identify a symbol in the clip.
