Students are on a mission to “escape their fears.” Their job is to work through each of the “rooms” in order to escape in time for the current Halloween.

What’s Covered:
Room ➀– Students will read the short story, “The Elevator” by William Sleator and will answer comprehension questions on author’s purpose, context clues, main idea, conflict, and more.
Room ➁– Students will identify parts of the plot from the story, “The Elevator.” They will drag & drop the boxes and put them in the correct location.
Room ➂– Students will watch a short Edpuzzle video (NO LOGIN REQUIRED) on tricks for overcoming fears and answer questions as they view the video.
Room ➃– Students will complete a Halloween figurative language drag and drop that covers similes, metaphors, personification, and alliteration.
